Description

Xyladecor Garden House is a light-film-forming, water-based wood stain with a matt transparent appearance, specially developed for garden sheds or wooden chalets.
The stain is resistant to weather influences, UV rays, fungal attack and green deposits.

For optimal protection against UV rays, use Xyladecor Garden House Colorless only as a maintenance layer on colored stain layers.

ℹ️ Attention, this is a new version of the Xyladecor Tuinhuis. The old product was solvent-based, the new product is water-based. Xyladecor recently made some more alteration, more information can be found in this blog.

At what interval should I reapply Xyladecor Tuinhuis?

After five years, it becomes essential to give your gazebo a new lick. Fortunately, you only need to apply 1 new coat during maintenance. Have you waited much longer than this? Then you may notice small flakes on your summerhouse. Then more is needed, namely first sanding and then reapplying 2 layers.

How to apply Xyladecor tuinhuis with roller or brush?

We are in favour of applying everything by brush. This allows the stain to penetrate your wood best. When applying Xyladecor Garden House by brush, make sure you paint along with the grain. A suitable brush for this job is ProGold Flat Brush 7530.

Do I need a primer under this Xyladecor Tuinhuis stain?

This Garden House Paint will adhere without a primer. But if your wood has never been treated or impregnated before, then a product to prevent wood infesting insects is a very welcome primer. For example, go first with Combi NF for the best protection.

Can I stain my summerhouse without prior sanding?

The answer is yes! If your wood has not been stained before, you can get straight to work without sanding. Please note that in some cases sanding is recommended. Think for example of staining over an old layer. If the old layer has already been pulverised, sand it.

How to use Xyladecor Tuinhuis

Prepare: Remove loose dirt with a brush. Sand the wood along the wood grain. Clean and dry the wood surface with synthetical thinner. Use protective foil and masking tape to cover off the surroundings.
Apply: Stir the product well, then apply it with a broad long-haired stain brush. Let dry and continue to apply a second and third coat if necessary.

Which wood tones can I get in Xyladecor Tuinhuis?

This product is a transparant stain. This means that your wood structure remains visible and you can choose other standard wood tones such as pallisander, light oak, mahogany, teak, ... Besides wood tones, you can also choose the colourless variant or a green colour.

The wood colours below are currently very popular and teak appears to be a garden trend of 2024. So if you don't have real teak wood, you can always colour it up with this stain.
